Dig Deep 04:47
I think you may have forgotten the power of that womb in your belly I know that you have been held underwater, now I know that you’re ready I can see through it all; you’ve been hiding from the gifts you’ve been given You’ve got to know now that this is your time Dig deep to your wisdom You’ve seen this coming in your dreams all along and you know what is needed Holding you’re breath for the hint of the dawn and I know you can feel it I think it’s time you remember the power of the gifts you’ve been given You’ve got to know now that this is your time Dig deep to your wisdom and Reach out your hand into infinite dark and creator will catch you I know it feels like you’re killing yourself, but spirit won’t let you I know it seems like the end of the world, but this is just the beginning I see that this is the fight of your life and you are already winning Dig deep to your wisdom and shine You are a healer, you’re a weaver of worlds; let the medicine move you You are a vessel with a message from god, just let it come through you Invite the worship for the goddess you are and the courage you’re bringing You’ve got to know you’re a gift from the stars; have faith in your vision
Dig deep to your wisdom and Reach out your hand into infinite dark and creator will catch you I know it feels like you’re killing yourself, but spirit won’t let you I know it seems like the end of the world, but this is just the beginning I see that this is the fight of your life and you are already winning Dig deep to your wisdom and Shine on you beautiful daughter of mine and we will light up this darkness
My love is driving my stake in the ground; may this moon be my witness Ignite the healing in the hearts of the world and it will all be forgiven I know we’re none of us in this alone But I need you my women And these gifts we’ve been given Dig deep to your wisdom and shine

Wake 04:43
I know you I’ve seen you somewhere before in a whole other light And well, oh yes, I know why you’re familiar now ‘cause I have been you in a whole other life You know me I think I’m falling every time and I wouldn’t have it any other way and well, I guess there’s times I’ve been misunderstood but I just didn’t know that I wasn’t ready I know love I see it everywhere in the eyes of the folks that I meet and well, I guess there’s times when there’s been heartache but the damage there’s been done and I’ve made my peace I know love I see it everywhere in the eyes of a girl named Jolene and I can’t help but think about that city boy when I wake up in the rain and I wake up singing

Run 04:12
Hey, what’s your hurry girl Take it slow and steady You will get where you’re going to When you’re good and ready You’ve gotta go You’ve gotta run run run run run And you’ve gotta go ‘Till you are long long long long gone Hey, are you listening Pretty full moon lady Tell me, when you are traveling Tell me, what will you carry You don’t know You’ve just gotta run run run run run And you’ve gotta go ‘Till you are long long long long gone Hey where you headed now Better slow that running Better breathe from your belly girl Another day is coming Where you’ve gotta go You’ve gotta run run run run run And you’ve gotta go ‘Till you are long long long long gone

Yeah you’ve gotta go You’ve gotta run run run run run And you’ve gotta go ‘Till you are long long long long gone

Lighthouse 04:05
I’m sitting in your room And I am playing your old guitar I kinda want to know how your day went I kinda want to know how you are ‘Cause you are sitting in your boat in the middle of a hurricane And I can tell that you’ve capsized And I can tell that you’re so afraid And I know you’ve got a lot of monsters to battle while you’re sailing home So baby, do your worst & come home ‘Cause I can tell the water’s churning And I can tell that you are praying for air And I can tell that there is thunder And I can tell that there is lightning there But I cannot be your lifeboat And I cannot be the wind in your sails And I know you’ve got a lot of demons to wrestle while you’re sailing home So baby, give ‘em all you got & come home Baby, give ‘em all you got & come home ‘Cause I don’t want to be your lifeboat And I don’t want to be the wind in your sails And I can tell that there is thunder And I can tell that you are praying for air And I know I cannot save you Because I know you’ve got to save yourself And I know you’ve got a lot of ashes to scatter while you’re sailing home So go be with your ghosts & come home I know you’re lost & I know you’re alone And I know you’ll find your way & come home I just want to be a lighthouse I’m just trying to be a lighthouse I’m just sitting here in my lighthouse

I went up to the mountain just the other day I kissed the ground beneath me and I prayed Where has all my courage gone?
How come I can’t hear my song?
This is what the mountain had to say

 She said
Oh, the less that you carry
The less you’ll need, the less you’ll need
And oh, the less that you gather The less you’ll leave, yeah the less you’ll leave And oh, the less that you worry The more the world will bring, the more this world will bring
Yeah, ‘cause everything I have ever wanted is here In this hollow wooden box & these wound up metal strings & this open hopeful heart
& the little song it sings

I went down to the ocean, my doubt & me I poured it into a bottle & I sent it out to sea
How come I can’t trust the flow?
How come I can’t let this go?
This is what the water said to me
 She said
Oh, the less that you carry
The less you’ll need, the less you’ll need
And oh, the less that you gather The less you’ll leave, yeah the less of a mess you’ll leave And oh, the less that you worry The more the world will bring, the more this world will bring
Yeah, ‘cause everything I have ever wanted is here In this hollow wooden box & these wound up metal strings & this open hopeful heart
& the little song it sings

I ask myself these questions almost every day
This is what my spirit has to say She says
Oh, the less that you carry
The less you’ll need, the less you’ll need
And oh, the less that you gather The less you’ll leave, yeah the less of a mess we’ll all leave And oh, the less that you worry The more the world will bring, the more this world will bring
Yeah, ‘cause everything I have ever wanted is here In this hollow wooden box & these wound up metal strings & this little open hopeful honest moment, yeah
& this little song I sing, this little song I sing
Yeah this open hopeful honest moment, yeah In this hollow wooden box & these wound up metal strings & this open hopeful heart
& the little song it sings & this open honest moment
& the little songs we sing The little songs we sing The little songs we sing

Tenth Avenue 04:55
It’s just so easy in the here & now You ring your bell & I’ll ring mine And when we’re talking we will try & save the world And when we’re restless we will ride And even though it’s long out of our way I think we’ll go tenth avenue It doesn’t look like it’ll rain today And it’s worth it to be with you

I could live forever here on this old bike I could live forever here on these old wheels I could stay forever here if this whole world stayed the same But you know what they say This, too, shall change And now the weight of holding on again Well, it’s keeping me awake ‘Cause if the leaving feels like I’ve been blown apart It’s like a haunting if you stay
Because with everything your fear has said You’re like a ghost of who I knew And even though I thought I hadn’t let you in, without knowing it I built a life out here with you

I could live forever here in this old house I could live forever here in these old jeans
I could stay forever here if this worn heart stayed the same But you know what they say This, too, shall change The quiet humming of my bicycle The way my legs go round & round
And how the centre of my gravity Is this momentum that I’ve found The only way to keep my balance now: I’ll need to learn to let this go The only way to keep from falling down:
You just keep moving down the road

I could have lived forever here in this bold love
I could have lived forever here in these wild ideas I could stay forever here if we just hadn’t been afraid So you know what they say
That maybe it’s better ‘Cause I could have lived forever here in this little life
I could be forever here with these simple dreams I could stay forever here if this whole world stayed the same But you know what they say This, too, shall change

Faith 05:51
So, the other night I had this funny dream: we were much bigger than we seemed & we were never told we were too small to do something Everyone around me had a hundred hands & we had the most amazing plans & we were never told we were too late to do something In the light of morning I awoke afraid feeling like I just wasn’t made Having all the strength that I would need to do something

And oh, I just can’t imagine what to do now with all of these nightmares coming true all of these nightmares And oh, I keep getting stronger And the light’s getting longer A little every day And I know this life’s what we make it And this world is too sacred to throw this all away And I refuse to lose my faith in it now Oh my friends, you know I think I understand: we just listen to the spirit of this land She would never tell us we’re too late to do something And oh, don’t tell me you cannot feel the change We are all of us wiser with our age, all of us wiser And oh, I keep getting stronger And the light’s getting longer A little every day And I know this life’s what we make it And this world is too sacred to throw this all away And I refuse to lose my faith in it now

And oh, I keep getting stronger And the light’s getting longer A little every day And I know this life’s what we make it And this world is too sacred to throw this all away And I refuse to lose my faith in it now

If we try, we can ride the momentum of the souls that came before us to light the way Yeah I know we can make this thing better We can do it together if we want to ‘Cause I, I refuse, yes I, for one, refuse to lose my faith in us now

There is this feeling it’s hard to ignore it now I think the waiting is over, yeah I know you can see it when you look in my eyes The balance is shifting & people are waking up
And we stand at a crossroads, yeah We make the choice from here, we decide Fear is not the answer Love is the movement We are the ones we have been waiting for They can hear us coming And they're shaking in their boots We are the ones we have been waiting for It won’t be long now, the momentum is growing Every moment we trust it brings us closer together than the day before And I know that we’re frightened, but I know that we’re ready And if this isn’t our time brothers and sisters, well then what the hell are we waiting for Fear is not the answer Love is the movement We are the ones we have been waiting for They can hear us coming And they're shaking in their boots We are the ones we have been waiting for I know you've been angry I know you've been lied to We are the ones we have been waiting for Love is the answer Love is the movement We are the ones we have been waiting for *Sing with your voices Stand with your own two feet We are the ones we have been waiting for Because if we stand together They will not move us We are the ones we have been waiting for Shine on your love light It's long enough to see this through We are the ones we have been waiting for Trust in your heart now Be brave and awaken We are the ones we have been waiting for We are the ones We are the ones We are the ones we have been waiting for We are the ones We are the ones We are the ones we have been waiting for We are the ones We are the ones We are the ones we have been waiting for They can hear us coming And they're shaking in their boots We are the ones we have been waiting for

Kilila 05:36
Wakey wakey There's a storm in the making It's coming is shaking you now to the depth of your soul This sea is a woman And it's only you you're fooling better show her you know what you're doing or she will swallow you whole You can try to name her It doesn't matter: there's no way to tame her You can't really blame her for making you go it alone Find your centre Your balance will ballast the weather If you know who you are when you enter her she will carry you home Oh Kilila Silhouette on the horizon Oh Kilila Silhouetted on the horizon Don't resist this I can tell that you're scared you will miss this But the weight of the world's in your kisses so keep your sorrow at bay You can't hide it & it'll kill you to try to fight it Just give in to the wind, you're alright, ride the current and pray Are you listening? Her song is there in the distance If you stay moored you will miss this and throw this journey away so Hey, are you ready? Hold the main line steady Know where you're heading and she will show you the way Oh Kilila Silhouette on the horizon
Oh Kilila Silhouetted on the horizon Silhouetted on the horizon Silhouetted on the horizon Silhouetted on the horizon Silhouetted on the horizon Brother, Surrender: you know that she knows better With awe and wonder, go be her lover Light is fading, better not keep her waiting Don't hurry the tides, can you feel her water rise Oh Kilila Silhouetted on the horizon Silhouetted on the horizon Silhouetted on the horizon Oh Kilila Oh Kilila Oh Kilila Oh Kilila

about

This album was produced with a lot of love and laughter live off the floor over three days and nights at Greenhouse Studios in Vancouver on Coast Salish Territories, along with my sister, Jessica Dawn Keeling, who’s ears and voice and spirit were vital throughout this process, and Sound Engineer Pherbie Midgley, who stepped whole-heartedly into bringing this to life.

The backup vocals and other really lovely little sounds were made by Jessica Dawn Keeling, along with Emily Molloy, Chris Dzavik, & on ‘Love is the Movement’, the voices of our Tiyòshpaye: Jim, Joan, Loretta, Mark, Tahina, AJ, Duane, Vanessa, Josh, Zack, Christina, Erin, Nikki, Giovanni, & Lola.

It was mastered by Brock McFarlane at CPS, and I’m elated that Zack Embree was in the studio with me to capture the images for the cover & website. The cover art & typography are by lovelettersforeverybody.ca, with advice & encouragement from Sarah Hay. Printed waterlessly on 100% recycled paper with veg inks .

With deep gratitude to the səlil̓wətaʔɬ, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm & sḵwx̱wú7mesh people for welcoming me on their territory. I’m humbled & happy to call this place home.
